If you ever want to feel extremely uncomfortable while simultaneously releasing an immense amount of toxins and shit (literally) from your body, this is your read.
I am currently living in Sayulita, Mexico and for the past year or so I have been having many gut issues. The whole year of 2021 and part of 2020 was quite miserable for me. I was in constant pain, going in and out of anxious and depressive states, sleeping 10 hours + a day, etc. My mom was finally at her wit's end of hearing me complain. She had been after me for months telling me I need to get a Hydro Colonic treatment. So, I finally gave in and dragged a good friend of mine with me. Ask me why I thought it was a good idea to get a new very invasive treatment done in a foreign country. Yeah, no idea.
I was anxious as hell, but the establishment was extremely professional and eased my nerves immensely, and the fact that my friend, Sara went first (thanks dude). There aren’t many female doctors and nurses in Mexico, so you guessed it. I had a middle-aged Mexican man shove a tube up my butt and like a movie we watched my shit flow together. So romantic. A quarter of the way through I was so uncomfortable I looked him deep in his soul and asked, “So, you ever been pooped on?” Choking back laughter, he just nodded his head from left to right. He continued to explain to me that he had done over 1000 of these Colonics. My restless mind calmed down a bit and I thought there is no way he can memorize 1000 buttholes, so mine would definitely be erased from his memory.
He kept it very professional and tried his best to make me as comfortable as possible, but first-timer cold feet. I didn’t really know what to expect from the outcome of the treatment because I didn’t do any research, I just trusted my mom and her personal experience.
Overall, the experience was uncomfortable, but extremely beneficial. I left the office feeling so much lighter, but it wasn't until the few days after I felt the real benefits. I felt everything flowing much easier. I could eat a meal and not feel tired and heavy after, I had more brain clarity, and energy throughout my days. This is just the beginning for me, I think it’s always worth stepping out of your comfort zone for something that could help you in the long run. Would I do it again? Yeah, for sure. But maybe next time I’ll ask for a lady.
What is Hydrotherapy?
A HydroColonic or a Hydrotherapy treatment is the deep and gentle cleansing of the colon, and shockingly enough dates back thousands of years. This practice removes the build-up of toxic fecal matter, gas, and unwanted mucus in your intestinal lining. The treatment itself consists of a trained therapist using a comfortable flow of warm and cold filtered water that runs deeply through your digestive tract, promoting an abundantly healthy gut. It leaves you much lighter, rejuvenated, and more mentally clear.
What Are The Benefits Of A Hydro Colonic?
A heightened level of cognitive function, including memory retention & absence of brain fog
Reduction of overwhelming amounts of stress and anxiety
Cleansing of years and years of toxic build-up in your digestive walls
Increased bowel motility, comes from training the peristalsis which works to promote contraction of this muscle to effectively remove waste
Decrease of acne, eczema, psoriasis, and other skin conditions
An overall increase in energy and vitality
Why Gut Health Is So Critical
Your gut is housing over 100 trillion bacteria. According to studies from The National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive and Kidney Diseases, 60-70 million people across the United States suffer from digestive diseases. That consists of around 22% of the population, which is absolutely nuts to think about. Health professionals go as far as saying your gut is your second brain. Interacting hand in hand with specific nerve functionalities, hormones, and linking directly to mental health. This is where that phrase comes in "you are what you eat" because it matters more than ever. A healthy gut contains rich bacteria and cells that fend off viral infections that are vital for long-term sustainability. So pay attention to what you're consuming. Your belly and brain will thank you!!
